The weekend! Despite variable weather, I wanted to get onto the Haines Road, south of Haines Junction. We jumped in my little Honda Fit and headed off.
The clouds were ominous throughout the day, with light rain in
some spots.
Nevertheless, a colourful fall day on the road!

Probably the most colourful spot along the highway on this trip
The intent was to have a short day on the road, to enjoy the colours. Therefore, before reaching the Alaska border we turned around and returned through British Columbia to the Yukon.
Back in Haines Junction a local eatery served up a good supper. Then we drove the 100 kilometres home to our cabin on the Alaska Highway in the Ibex Valley.
