August & Sept 2010 - Vancouver Island to Alaska

THE PLAN -- enjoy nine weeks of exploring Yukon & Alaska.

The REALITY -- a great five and a half weeks followed by two very difficult weeks that had us in Vancouver B.C. in mid-Sept.  The last one and a half weeks were then spent licking our wounds in the Kootenay country of British Columbia.

While in Alaska, our 18-month-old dog became sick.  Tazz did not improve with treatment in Vancouver. On Sept 20 our sweet ambitious girl died.

We retreated to Nakusp Hot Springs where we tried to regenerate our souls. 
On the way home we visited some favorite spots in southern B.C.

This trip covered a total of 11,300 km (7,000 miles) with 63 nights of camping.
